A God Above Morality
Friedrich Nietzsche
The Will to Power
§ 1035
(Spring-Fall 1887; rev. Spring-Fall 1888)
Modern humans use their powers of idealization to make God more moral. But this only indicates "a diminution of the strength of man."
We could view God the opposite way as well. He could include "the whole fullness of life's antitheses and, in a divine torment" redeem and justify them. Such a god would be beyond and above the lower person's morality of "good and evil." (533c)
