Advanced French Grammar
1. Framework
1.1 Parts of Speech
1.1.7 Pronouns
1.1.7.3 Possessive Pronouns
Stressed possessive adjectives are now obsolete in French. However, their nominalized forms now serve as possessive pronouns. We make their nominalization explicit by providing the definite article.
The possessive pronouns must agree in gender and number with the possessed thing. And, they must agree n person and number with whoever is doing the possession.
