(i) Extra Info
Adverbs add additional information to a verb, adjective, or another adverb, or a whole clause.
Ex,
Tu marches lentement.
Vous êtes trop gentil.
Il conduit si vite!
Hier, je suis allée au cinéma.
(ii) Invariation
For the most part, adverbs are invariable.
(iii) Simple or Compound
Adverbs can be either
1) simple (bien, mal, vite), or
2) compound (avant-hier, tout à fait)
They may take many different formations, but most adverbs end in -ment.
(iv) Clause Modification
Adverbs that modify clauses are optional elements to those clauses they modify. And they can be moved about according to certain rules.
